The project

We wanted to create a math keyboard during our 2nd year of engineering school.
The first version was this: stickers on the keys

At least we managed to make it work, we were super happy!

Then we tried to make a clean prototype by painting some keys and then removing some material with a laser.

We had a lot of little problems, so it took a lot longer than we would have liked.

For example, the keys are not exactly flat, so we had to 3D print a support.

The previous prototype was less clean than expected. We finally found a way to print the keys. The final version will be ready soon!

… that was without counting certain details, for example the absence of 0 in the keys that we ordered. We will have to be patient :((

And to finish this presentation of the project seen from the inside, a special mention to this <stdint.h> error which took us many, many hours of debugging, and which we are not likely to forget.

We hope you enjoy this project. If you want to follow the design of the sejoboard more closely, we are on discord (link at the bottom of this page).

The team

We met as undergraduates. Three years later, we are creating Sejoboard together, with mathematics being now not only our passion, but also our specialization.

Lumine Trentelivres studies at CentraleSupélec

Jérémie Charlotte studies at ENSAI

We have carried out an almost artisanal work together. From writing our patent, to taking pictures of the prototype with an iPhone, we build this project ourselves.

Of course, this project would not have reached this stage without the help of wonderful people whom we thank, as well as infrastructures and organizations — in particular those of CentraleSupélec, which for example helped us building the prototype.

Why “Sejo”?

Named after the successor of Sejong, the king who created the Korean alphabet based on a precise analysis of phonology, our name reflects our desire to succeed LateX, to reinvent the writing of mathematical documents

As students, launching an industrialization is ambitious.

We are counting on you to share about this wonderful project, and especially to give us feedback.

If you are interested in this adventure, join the mailing list to get informed of the release of the Sejoboard, and the discord to participate in choosing its final features!

Thanks !
